IBS Diet is becoming more popular. IBS diet is designed to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel movement like diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation. Many IBS sufferers claim that their IBS symptoms is aggravated by certain foods. They may wonder if they have a dietary allergy or intolerance.
There are many factors that trigger IBS and one of these are the food that we eat. People with IBS symptoms , will need to identify exactly which food trigger their IBS attacks. There are basically two groups of foods known to affect IBS. The Gastrointestinal stimulants and gastrointestinal irritants. Stimulants include coffee, caffeine, nicotine and alcohol while Irritants are foods that are high in fat, dairy products, spicy foods, insoluble fiber, artificial sweeteners, and monosodium glutamate (MSG).
IBS diet is one that helps a person to manage the symptoms more effectively which are closely associated with this medical condition. People with this condition is recommended to start a diet that is high in fiber. Fiber is an important part of any IBS diet. When adding fiber to the diet, it is best to do so slowly over a period of weeks, which helps avoid discomfort.
To help you decide on the right IBS diet, you may want to keep a symptoms and diet diary. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but should include the date, time, food you ate, and any symptoms or benefits that occur. Identify which particular foods trigger your IBS symptoms and try to avoid them. Educated food choices can make a real difference in the lives of IBS sufferers.
